Hi, I'm Jess.

I synthesize viewpoints and experiences to develop tailor-made solutions supporting personal, scientific, and organizational growth.

I'm an organizational psychologist, writer, social scientist, and applied philosopher.

I hold a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Montclair State and an MSBA in Organizational Behavior from Washington University’s Olin Business School, built on a philosophy degree that still shapes how I think about everything. I’ve conducted 250+ in-depth research interviews, built talent assessments and competency models for Fortune 500 companies, instructed university-level courses in leadership and negotiation, and conducted multi-year research on topics like wellbeing and human connection.

I see how the pieces fit together.

I’m a systems thinker. That means I see the big picture and how different parts of your business, ideas, or life connect. I help reconcile all of it into a framework that makes sense, where the pieces work together instead of against each other. Then we figure out which levers to pull first.

I bring scientific expertise that feels personal.
Because it is.

As a scientist, I gather and analyze data.
As a philosopher, I ensure it's the right data.
As an ideas artist, I bring them together.
As a storyteller, I connect your story.

I am authentic. There are no surprises in our work together.

I seek to deeply understand you, your context, and how your vision comes together.

I clarify the product into something that fits you, works for you-- makes sense for you.

I make science
authentic and personal.

The Social Synth Way

Combining evidence with empathy.

I leverage genuine connection in practical problem solving.

I use an applied philosophy angle to get at the "Why?"

I triangulate your data points
into coherence.

I use quantitative and qualitative methods like interviewing, thematic analysis, and descriptive and predictive statistics.

I also use experiential methods to understand "what it's like"-- the experiences of you, your employees, your audience, and your customers.

We co-create coherence for a clear path forward.

Three ways to work together

Coaching
(Intentional Development)

One-on-one sessions where we map your goals, organize your thinking, and build a personalized framework for moving forward. Whether you're navigating a career shift, studying for a certification, working through personal growth, or just feeling stuck and unsure where to start, I help you make sense of it all and turn thought into action.

How I Can Help

Research & Writing
(Knowledge Generation)

Applied social science research, copyediting, and writing that makes sure your ideas have real structural integrity. I use rigorous research methods while keeping the heart of the question. I attend to rhetoric and flow, making sure your narrative holds together like a sound argument. Great for academic manuscripts, professional documents, and thought leadership content.

Organizations
(Personnel Strategy & Programming,
UXR, Market Research)

I help organizations understand their people and make their systems work. That means things like culture and communications diagnostics, employee engagement research, competency modeling, selection and training programs, and performance frameworks grounded in data. I've built talent assessments for Fortune 500 clients, led multi-year research on workforce wellbeing, and designed tools that translate organizational complexity into clarity.

Jess doesn’t overwhelm me with more information. Instead, she helps me understand the structure underneath what I’m learning and the patterns in how my mind organizes things. She meets me where I actually am, steady, clear, supportive, and there’s never any sense of judgment or pressure.

Jess’s method of questioning my motivations and desires have guided me towards a deeper understanding of the "why" and the "how" in my personal development. She has presented me with systems, suggestions, and frameworks that make my goals seem attainable. We think very differently and that is what is so helpful.

"For years it had been frozen in my mind and I finally feel like I've broken the ice and have direction."

Jess helped me achieve my goal of understanding how to approach and organize my thoughts to come up with a plan for my new writing endeavor. Exactly what I needed.

Kayla, Creative Project Client

New Orleans, LA

Jess has many talents, but the most profoundly valuable one is her ability to help others see the world in a productive new way. She might help you to diagnose a problematic system. She might help you to reinterpret your own narrative. Or she might help you edit your words to reveal the profundity of your thoughts. In all cases, Jess will help you see with new eyes, a skill I have used many times in my own work as a scholar and a person.

"Jess will help you see with new eyes."

Matt, Research and Coaching Client

Washington DC

"Working with Jess on an academic article was a genuinely exceptional experience."

Tomi, Research Client

I brought her a complex framework I had developed, and she immediately grasped not just the content, but the deeper architecture of it — then translated that understanding into language that was precise, powerful, and exactly right. Her word choices elevated the work without losing my voice, and her instinct for sentence structure gave the piece a momentum I couldn't have achieved on my own. She is a pleasure to collaborate with. If you are looking for someone to help give serious ideas the writing they deserve, Jess is the person to call.
